Today we chat with Liz! She works in the influencer marketing world, recently moved to Texas, and is on the hunt for the perfect pair of jeans! 

FIT 1:

Joel: Hi Liz! What's new?

Liz: Not too much. Just survived my first Texas freeze. Obviously Zach and I are no stranger to the cold(New Yorker's for 10+ years) but Texas was not built to withstand this kind of weather so we had to do a lot of house prep so that was fun.

Joel: I just had to google what a Texas Freeze was...I can't imagine that's very much fun for people that aren't used to the cold. Haleigh and I lived in Savannah, GA for 6 months, and cold in Pennsylvania is not cold in Georgia. What's your fit currently?

Liz: I’ve been rocking a lot of sweat sets lately. I might look like Scott Calvin but I’ve never been more comfy and cozy.

Joel: Scott Calvin is a style icon. If Haleigh ever lets me become Santa I'd gladly push Tim Allen off a roof. You recently moved to Austin from New York City. Has your style changed or been influenced by the move?

Liz: I don’t think it’s changed too much since we’ve moved, but I did buy me some new cowboy boots. I felt like they were a necessary purchase to help get us acclimated to the area. Also they’re cute AF.

FIT 2:

"I love all things spooky season! I found this sweatshirt on Instagram - I actually think Haleigh introduced me to the brand, they’re called Hubs & Hers. Zach calls me his “boo” so it was a no brainer, plus on the front there is a headstone that read “RIP to all the girls before me” and I just couldn’t resist. We were going to a pumpkin patch and I paired it with this hat and flannel to really push that basic fall betch angle haha"

Joel: That's what I'm talking about! I found secondhand snakeskin cowboy boots a couple years ago. I was really into Yellowstone at the time, but sadly couldn't make it work. Speaking of work, What's your day job when not bopping around Austin with Zach?

Liz: I work remotely for an Influencer Marketing company called The Shelf. My job is to find the best influencers to fit different brand campaigns. It’s the closest I’ll ever get to living out my dream as Detective Olivia Benson.

Joel: So basically you're an influencer hunter. Olivia Benson hunts down criminals, you hunt down people who are gonna convince me to finally get on Tiktok(Never gonna happen)

Tiktok blurs the line between Gen Z and Millenial, as a millennial, a lot of my style is rooted in nostalgia and what I would consider a simpler time. What's your biggest influence, style wise? a person? a movie? a decade?

FIT 3:

"This fit is from Thanksgiving 2022. I had thrifted this letterman sweater a few years before - I love old varsity/letterman clothing so when I saw this I had to have it! The letters on it are “H C” and my mom went to Holy Cross high school so even though this wasn’t from her school, it felt like a connection to her!"

Liz: I think my style has changed a lot over the years but once I turned 30 the most important thing became comfort. Not just wearing clothes that physically felt comfortable but feeling comfortable with my body and myself. I stopped trying to force myself to wear outfits that made me feel shitty about myself just because they were “trendy”. I feel like there’s been a big surge of body inclusivity influencers on social media sharing clothes that make them feel good and this has really influenced me the most!

Joel: It's literally the best. Even in menswear, men are starting to let that freak flag fly. Incorporating color and wild fits into their everyday wear. It's a positive movement and I'm here for it. If money was no object, what's one grail you'd snag today?

Liz: I would love a pair of Good American jeans. Supposedly they are THE BEST for curvy girls like myself and all the girlies rave about them. They’re not cheap so right now I have a hard time splurging on jeans that may or may not live up to the hype.

Joel: There's nothing better than a pair of hard wearing jeans that are comfortable. That's why Levi's have been a staple for such a long time. Speaking of time, We've known each other for the better part of a decade, because of our significant others. You've seen this company grow from its infancy. Is there anything you like to see us do in the new year to really take PSV to the next level?

Liz: Honestly, I’m so proud of everything you’ve accomplished with PSV already and I just want to see y’all keep doing what you’re doing! If anything I’d just love for others to help do their part to spread the word about your awesome shop - maybe even some influencer marketing could be in your future. ::wink wink::

FIT 4:

"This fit is from a Matchbox Twenty concert. I definitely leaned in hard on nostalgia here but it’s probably one of my favorite looks ever! I just felt so cool and comfortable (especially with those shades on) and I never usually feel that way in jean shorts - so it was a win!"

Joel: That means a lot! The toughest thing is getting the word out about a relatively new company like ours. We're trying to get that reach farther than Pittsburgh so anything helps. Based on that, a big thing for me when traveling is shopping regionally. Every city has a different aesthetic and culture, vintage wise. Do you have any upcoming trips planned? If so, are you looking for anything in particular?

Liz: Zach and I are still hoping to go on our original honeymoon (the curse of a 2020 wedding) to Ireland and Scotland - and beyond wanting to drink my body weight in scotch, I’d love to go thrift shopping while there. I feel like vintage/thrift shops are a whole other beast in Europe and I feel like I could find some really cool stuff!

Joel: Shopping regionally is something Haleigh and I try to make a point of on our travels. Every city has their own unique flair. Thanks for chatting it up! Anything else you'd like to add/promote?

Liz: I’ve had a love/hate relationship with clothes for a majority of my life and this really gave me an opportunity to think about what I love most about clothes and, remember some really great outfits I’ve worn, so thank you so much for including me!

FIT 5:

"This fit is from Pride Weekend in Asbury Park, NJ. We were going to a Carly Rae Jepsen concert and this was my Era’s Tour. As a group we got all decked out and it was a liberating experience, because I went outside my comfort zone with this outfit but ended up feeling so confident and having so much fun! "
